Welcome to the latest update of XinChao! We have been busy making your Vietnamese learning journey smoother, faster, and much more practical. From a brand-new online phrase library to powerful audio tools, here is what is new.

  • Massive online phrase library. We published 708 searchable Vietnamese phrase pages on our website. You can now easily browse, search, and share essential expressions for your next trip.
  • Dual-dialect audio. Practice with both Northern (Hanoi) and Southern (Saigon) accents. You can hear the differences clearly to prepare for wherever you travel in Vietnam.
  • Tone Lab and Foundations. Master the tricky Vietnamese tones with our dedicated Tone Lab, and build a strong base with our new Foundations lessons.

  • Simplified progress. We removed confusing XP points to give you a cleaner, more straightforward path through your lessons.
  • Better readability. Enjoy a clean, two-column layout with easy-to-read English translations in your Foundation lessons.
  • Smoother onboarding. Get straight to the most helpful parts of the app faster when you sign up for the first time.

Fixes

  • Audio playback restored. Fixed an issue where the phone's loudspeaker would stop working after you finished a voice practice session.
  • Dialect audio fixes. Resolved playback issues for Northern and Southern pronunciation guides in our survival modules.
  • Reliable upgrades. Fixed issues with the upgrade screen to ensure smooth transactions and clear billing messages if something goes wrong.
  • Search engine friendly. Fixed a setting that was preventing search engines from showing our website, making it much easier to find our free learning resources online.
